Louisiana Military Wedding – Cherie Lynee’ Smith & Luke Wilson Groninger – Legacy Photography LLC – Shreveport, LA

Cherie and Luke, both serving in the United States Army, met while they were stationed at Fort Hood in Texas.  Cherie and Luke became friends and spent time together during the holidays while attending volunteer and fundraising events.  Eventually, they began to attend a local church together and officially started dating.       Both were on orders to to deploy to Afghanistan in September 2013.  Cherie grew up attending the Airline Church of Christ and that was where they went for their deployment send off.  There, in front of all her friends and family, Luke proposed.  The deployment send off quickly became an engagement celebration.  Cherie and Luke went on a Carnival Cruise to the Western Carribean for their honeymoon.  The couple will return to the area after military service.

Timothy Eddington – PPA Platinum Photographer 2014-2015 – Legacy Photography LLC

Local Photographer Named Platinum Medalist at International Photographic Competition
Timothy Eddington of  Legacy Photography LLC is honored by peers and jurors for high-quality photography.

Shreveport, LA – Timothy Eddington of  Legacy Photography LLC  in Shreveport, Louisiana was named a Platinum Medalist during Professional Photographers of America’s 2014 International Photographic Competition.

A panel of 45 eminent jurors from across the United States selected the top photographs from nearly 5,000 total submitted entries at Gwinnett Technical College in Georgia. Judged against a standard of excellence, just over 1,800 images were selected for the General Collection and 918 (roughly 18 percent) were selected for the esteemed Loan Collection—the best of the best. The Loan Collection images will all be published in the much-anticipated “Loan Collection” book and over 200 selected General Collection images will be published in the “Showcase” book by Marathon Press.

The level of the award is determined by how many of those four images receive the highest possible honor: acceptance into the PPA Loan Collection, which is displayed at photographic exhibitions, conventions and other photography events. Eddington was named a Platinum Medalist, meaning that three of his merited images entered the PPA Loan Collection. In 2014, he was one of only 50 Platinum photographers of the Year.

Late Spring Wedding – Tyra Latrice Munson & Oscar Samuel Johnson – Legacy Photography LLC – Shreveport, LA

This was a beautiful couple and a beautiful late spring wedding.

Tyra and Samuel Johnson

May 24, 2014

A_002

Tyra and Oscar met in Arlington, Texas, where they were both working.  She states that she actually did most of the talking while he listened.  He is known to possess the exceptional gift of being a great listener.  That was three years ago and they have been the best of friends since.

Oscar tried three times but Tyra could not sit still long enough for him to propose.  He had even put the ring on her dog with no response.  Finally, when she was at her twin sister’s house, at 1:45 in the morning, he succeeded in proposing after telling her of his many attempts.  It was a special blessing to Tyra because her sister was there.  The couple was able to share their special occasion with over 200 friends and family members.  Oscar and Tyra honeymooned at the Breathless Punta Cana Resort in the Dominican Republic.
